As a University of Maryland School of Medicine assistant professor and program director of the Critical Care Medicine Fellowship, Andrea R. Levine, M.D., MS has performed instrumental work as a co-investigator on COVID-19 drug trials.

She also runs the University of Maryland Critical Illness Recovery Clinic working with patients who required prolonged hospitalizations in the ICU or the Extra Corporal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO). Levine also works with individuals hospitalized or have ongoing symptoms because of COVID-19.

Levine is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed her residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center. With a focus on pulmonary, allergy and critical care, she finished a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

“Dr. Levine is passionate about everything she does,” said Jeffrey D. Hasday, the Dr. Herbert Berger Professor of Medicine, professor of pathology and biochemistry and molecular biology, and head of pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
