An ownership group led by local businessmen Bill Henderson and Joe Opauski along with former Association of Tennis Professionals member Gil Schuerholz, who will open a state-of-the-art pickleball facility Saturday in northeast Baltimore County.
The Picklehouse, at 1330 Innovation St. in the Greenleigh mixed-use development in Middle River, will also have a “housewarming” grand opening event Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. with the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce.
The investor group signed a lease for 27,130 square feet of space with Bill Jautze of St. John Properties representing the landlord. Dylan Bozel and Matt Mueller of MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services representing the tenant.
Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the pro-level facility firsthand, learn more about upcoming programs and events, meet the owners and other pros and sign up for membership at the club on site. Longtime tennis player and USA Pickleball Ambassador Scott Thornton was named the facility’s general manager.
The Pickleball House features eight permanent regulation-size indoor courts measuring 30 feet by 60 feet and will be open Sunday for complimentary play.
