UM St. Joseph, Luminis Health AAMC earn ‘A’ hospital safety grades
Two Maryland health care organizations Wednesday received “A” grades for hospital safety from Leapfrog, a national nonprofit watchdog group for the medical industry.
University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System, and Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center (LHAAMC), both received “A” ratings.
UM St. Joseph has received a total of 10 ‘A’ ratings for patient safety from the Leapfrog Group, with this latest achievement marking the hospital’s sixth consecutive award. LHAAMC has earned ‘Straight A’s’ for every grading period since 2018.
Grades are updated twice annually in the fall and spring.
UM St. Joseph was ranked as the No. 1 community hospital in Maryland by U.S. News & World Report. LHAAMC recently received its third Magnet designation for nursing excellence and its recognition as one of Newsweek’s Best Hospitals in the United States.
