On the Move, 3/21: Hershtig hired as architectural designer by Becker Morgan Group

Dorit Hershtig has been hired by the architectural/engineering firm as an architectural designer in its Salisbury office. Hershtig has a master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. The firm also has offices in Dover, Del., and Wilmington, N.C.

Awards

Montgomery Women, an organization dedicated to promoting women in elected and appointed leadership positions, held its 7th Annual Power Tea on March 13. Former U.S. Rep. Constance Morella, a Republican who represented Maryland’s 8th District from 1987 to 2003, received the organization’s Shining Star Award. Morella is now on the faculty of American University’s School of Public Affairs as ambassador in residence of the Women & Politics Institute. Rachel Glass, executive director of the Montgomery Coalition for Adult English Literacy, received the Rising Star Award. She has also served as the Montgomery County campaign director for the United Way, and was a founding board member of Art and Remembrance, co-chair of Nonprofit Montgomery, a member of the Gaithersburg Community Advisory Committee, and projects coordinator for Leadership Montgomery.

Culinary

Pedro Gonzalez has been appointed general manager of Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Baltimore. Gonzalez has worked in the restaurant industry for 22 years. He has been a general manager for 13 years, starting in Puerto Rico for eight years, a year in Jamaica and now four years in the United States. Other establishments he has been a part of include Texas de Brazil, Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville, The Cheesecake Factory, Maggiano’s Little Italy and Romano’s Macaroni Grill.

Finance

, president of , of Baltimore, recently received designation as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst from the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts, which is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. Derricks is an independent financial consultant who began his career in 1998 and formed Partnership Wealth Management, a financial services company, a few years later.

Marketing

, a Baltimore-based marketing communications agency, has hired Joe Glorioso as art director and Jess Dellen as copy editor. Glorioso most recently was an adjunct faculty member for the graphic design department at MICA; before that he was design director at MGH. Glorioso graduated from Towson University with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design. Dellen previously was an editorial assistant at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington, D.C.

Websites

Website design, development and marketing firm E-Moxie will move from Fallston to a larger office in downtown Havre de Grace in April. Also, the firm has hired Amy Gangi as an office manager. Since 2005, Gangi has owned her own photography business.
