More than 200 people gathered June 27 at the Radisson Hotel Baltimore Downtown to celebrate The Daily Record’s 2019 Health Care Heroes, which recognizes individuals and organizations that have had an impact on health care across Maryland.

Twenty-six people and organizations were honored in six different categories. Individual winners were honored for Lifetime Achievement; Community Outreach/Education Hero; Nurse of the Year and Physician of the Year. Organizations were honored in Advancement and Innovation in Health Care and Community Outreach/Education Hero categories.

In the Lifetime Achievement category, two individuals were recognized for their lifetime of dedication to the health care community. Those honored were Robin Luxon, University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health, and Dr. William Regine, University of Maryland School of Medicine.

The Maryland Hospital Association was the event partner. Kaiser Permanente was the awards sponsor and Keswick and LifeBridge Health were Thank You sponsors. Epsilon Registration, Johns Hopkins Medicine, Lorien Health Services, Maryland Proton Treatment Center, Meritus Medical Center, M&T Bank, Sheppard Pratt Health System, University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health, VPC Inc. and Western Maryland Health System were table sponsors.
