What is your proudest professional accomplishment?
My proudest professional accomplishment is building a legal and government relations practice which is recognized as a top-flight and highly sought-after firm across Maryland. HJM reflects how hard I have worked to be taken seriously as a Black woman, attorney and business owner.
What is the most important life lesson you learned?
Don’t take no for an answer, even when you doubt yourself. Throughout my career, on issues big and small, there have always been barriers and challenges that would have been easy to just walk away from and give up. Persistence has been the key to my success, whether it is in starting a company, providing for my sons, or working on behalf of my clients. You have to get your mind focused to keep trying.
