Women are still facing disparities economically, in the board room and in leadership roles. Why is this still the case and what needs to happen to truly change the conversation and start making faster progress in this critical area?
I think women are being discounted due to tradition, stereotypes, ignorance, discrimination, and lack of opportunities. What needs to happen is education and awareness of women’s capacity to lead as well as role models who can flex their female power.
Share your story on how you got to the C-suite and how you are helping other women achieve this goal.
I got to the C-suite simply because of my desire to be an entrepreneur. This was after years of being in the corporate world as a senior member of several organizations that paved the way for me to be where I am today. As a Top 100 Women and member of the Circle of Excellence, I have been using my expertise to empower women with the effective communication tools they need to advance their careers and find their voices.
As women leaders it is our role to help grow the next generation of leaders. What advice can you share to help impact not only the younger generation but also the women who are trying to grow in their careers and create positive change?
Seek out experts who can tell you what your blind spots are and be willing to do something to get rid of them. Identify the small things you can do often and make a commitment to better yourself in ways that move the needle.
