Self-care connects everything in life: career, interactions and one’s personal life. Is this something you are doing well or is this a goal? What are your secrets if you are succeeding and what are you goals if this is a focus area where you want to learn from others?

Like any stable structure, one is best supported by a strong foundation. Self-care provides that foundation for me and that’s why I exercise six to seven days a week. I am a distance runner, and a spin enthusiast, so around 7 a.m. each day, if I’m not running three to five miles or more, then I’m on my spin bike. As a wife and mother, the earlier I get up, the better. It’s my time to think about everything or nothing at all. I sometimes do my best problem solving while pushing my body to extreme limits. I’m very goal oriented and I like working towards something. As a result, I’ve participated in over nine half marathons, six 10-mile races, completed a full marathon and a sprint triathlon and finished countless 10k and 5K races. Running helps me to remain humble and to show grace to myself and others.
