Lisa Harris Jones is the founder member of Harris Jones and Malone, a 23-year old Baltimore law firm that focuses on state and local lobbying, government relations and procurement.
Her clients include businesses both small and large, municipalities and related quasi-public agencies and nonprofit organizations. She represents clients on a variety of business interests, including real estate development, land use zoning and financing, construction, energy, retail sales, education public safety and health care.
What is the most valuable habit you have developed?
Preparing for my upcoming work week on Sundays enables me to prioritize my day goals and ensures that my firm is responsive to the needs of our clients and all elected officials, agency representatives and others that we are working with on our clients’ behalf.
What is the biggest challenge facing government leaders in Maryland?
Making difficult and possibly unpopular decisions to achieve long-term funding streams aimed at returning public education to the best in the nation, job creation, providing equity in transportation policy and infrastructure, and increasing public safety.
