How have you mentored others?
I facilitated educational and outreach programs, Schools in the Court, to help students learn how to communicate effectively and to inform and educate students about the importance of making good choices.
The program includes a mock traffic stop and teaches students how to interact with police during traffic stops, how the police should be interacting with them and their legal rights.
The program highlights how choices have real consequences for themselves and their families and how it impacts the community. The program also addresses the consequences of drug and alcohol usage and the developmental impact on their brains.
It also allows the students to meet and interact with key players in the court process, including police officers, K-9 units, public defenders, state’s attorneys, bailiffs and judges and learn about their career paths.
