Erica Joseph
President, Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore

As president, she leads the operation, growth, and development of the foundation. Joseph thrives in the nonprofit sector, where she can create relationships, share stories, connect people to one another, highlight the local nonprofit sector, take time to listen to those struggling or seeking assistance, create opportunities for learning, understanding and action – actions that she acknowledges aren’t necessarily “the solution” as they are hard to measure, but actions that truly matter in philanthropy. A strong local nonprofit sector is key to a strong community.
CFES has embraced this as it strives to bring as much awareness, support, and engagement to local partners as possible. Joseph is a strong proponent of mentoring, as she hopes to provide guidance, coaching, accountability, and encouragement to those around her to ensure growth both personally and professionally.
Erica holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Salisbury University and a Master of Science in Conservation Biology from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a board member of the Maryland Philanthropy Network and serves on the steering committee for the Maryland Community Foundation Association.
