Potomac-based Shulman Rogers Law Firm announced Monday it will continue its Black-Owned Business Program, which will provide free legal support for a year for a business in the Washington-Maryland-Virginia region.

Co-chaired by two Shulman Rogers shareholders Kimberly Mann and Michael Lichtenstein, the program is open to any business in the DMV that is at least 51% Black-owned and controlled.

The selection committee, led by Lichtenstein and Mann, will review each application and determine finalists by Dec. 1. All finalists will participate in a Zoom interview with the committee. A decision will be announced in late December.

Vennard Wright of Wave Welcome was the winner of the 2023 Black-Owned Business Program. Over the past year, Wright’s company has launched products including PerVista, an AI platform designed to detect firearms in real-time.

Applications for the 2024 program, available here, must be submitted no later than Nov. 1.
