Korean tech company TFI to launch first US operation in Frederick

Korean tech company Thin Film Interconnects (TFI) announced it will launch its inaugural U.S. operation in at 321 Ballenger Center Drive to introduce a new, improved production method to the semiconductor device and packaging industry.

FITCI’s program supports companies in life science, biotech, agrotech, clean energy and technology sectors with market entry guidance, strategic growth and advisory boards, connection to local resources and industry partners, as well as relocation information, networking and cultural transition assistance.

The company is a partner in Maryland’s Global Gateway Initiative, managed by the Maryland Department of Commerce. The initiative, along with the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, further strengthens America’s presence in this critical industry.

FITCI fosters entrepreneurial activity in Frederick’s science and technology industries. Its purpose is to enable emerging entrepreneurs, encourage innovation, and accelerate development of commercially viable businesses that create jobs and contribute to a healthy economy.

Clients are supported through coaching, connections, and equitable access to resources within a cooperative community environment. The incubator is Maryland’s largest, with 93% of client startups becoming successful businesses.
