In addition to handling ERISA cases, Stein regularly advises clients on the Affordable Care Act compliance, handles litigation matters on discrimination and sexual harassment claims, defends overtime and minimum wage claims, and regularly represents employers through audits, investigations and other proceedings.

Stein has earned Martindale-Hubbell’s highest peer rating, the AV Preeminent rating for more than 25 years. He currently serves as general counsel for the Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park, Inc., a volunteer position he has held since 2010. He is also a member of the Washington Estate Planning Council, and served as chair as the Maryland State Bar Association’s Employee Benefits Study Group in 2023.

He lives by this quote from Jim Collins: “Greatness is not a function of circumstance. Greatness, it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice.”
