Mercy Medical Center celebrates National Cancer Survivors Day

At least 200 Mercy Medical Center survivors, their friends and families gathered on June 9 in celebration of National Cancer Survivors Day with ceremonies held in the main lobby of Mercy’s Mary Catherine Bunting Center.

Remarks were made by Sister Helen Amos, RSM and Dr. David Riseberg, chief of medical oncology and hematology, and attendees were treated to two special videos telling the stories of Mercy cancer patients.

The Montgomery Hospice Threshold Choir performed songs and the cancer survivors enjoyed food and refreshments while being presented with flowers and other gifts.
