The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore (DPOB), Ellen “Elle” Odoi and Yvette Pappoe, siblings and owners of Décorelle, opened its first retail storefront Sept. 19 in downtown Baltimore.

The dede. Shop, a full-service luxury interior design firm at 305 N. Howard St., was made possible through a grant from the American Recovery Plan Act and local partners Guinness Open Gate Brewery and BGE and supported by DPOB’s BOOST (Black-Owned Occupancy Storefront Tenancy) program.

Elle, a self-taught designer, began designing on the side for friends and family for nearly two years while pursuing her corporate career when she and Yvette, a lawyer and law professor at the University of the District of David A. Clarke School of Law, joined forces to bring their vision to life.

In 2018, Elle quit her job to pursue design full-time and the sisters launched Décorelle, intending to democratize luxury interior design by making it more accessible to a broader audience. They have since serviced residential and commercial clients nationwide from the DMV to New York, Texas, Seattle and beyond.

The firm is a certified Women’s Business Enterprise.
