What does it mean to you to be a women-owned business?
I had the incredible privilege of 23 years at Forest City Ratner, six of them as CEO, leading an outstanding team and building iconic New York buildings such as the New York Times headquarters, Barclays Center and New York by Gehry. But nothing compares to founding and owning my own company, particularly in a male-dominated industry like real estate development. It represents the culmination of decades of hard work, determination and pushing the boundaries of what the industry once deemed impossible.
What challenges have you faced as a women-owned business?
Even in 2024, real estate is still a male-dominated industry. However, I’ve always been of the mindset that as long as I’m confident in my abilities and expertise, there is no doubt that myself and my team have, and deserve, a crucial seat at the table.
