CEO and CFOElizabeth Rendon-Sherman, CEO and CFO of LG-TEK, has built a 27-year legacy of leadership, service and innovation in Maryland’s technology sector.
From her early career in the U.S. Army from 1979-1983 to founding LG-TEK in 1997, Rendon-Sherman has consistently broken barriers. Under her guidance, LG-TEK has grown to employ more than 150 people across 10 states and overseas locations, specializing in software development, foreign language support and cybersecurity services for federal government contracts.
“She is a leader that is driven, focused and devoted to success,” said Don Bennett, executive talent acquisition manager at LG-TEK. “I am constantly impressed and sometimes amazed with her business sense and sound judgment in personal and technical matters.”
Beyond her corporate leadership, Rendon-Sherman maintains deep ties to the Howard County community through extensive board service. She has served on the Johns Hopkins Medicine Board of Trustees, Howard County General Hospital Board of Trustees and as board member and scholarship committee chair of the Fort Meade Alliance Foundation. Her commitment extends to supporting military veterans through involvement with the Blue Angels Foundation, which assists veterans dealing with PTSD, brain injuries and suicide prevention.
“My greatest accomplishment is to be able to continue to provide professional and meaningful work and opportunities for over 150 employees across the US,” Rendon-Sherman said.
A graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in information systems management, Rendon-Sherman went on to earn her master’s in business from Central Michigan University. She received an honorary degree from Howard Community College.
Her leadership philosophy emphasizes employee development and community engagement. Under her direction, LG-TEK has implemented comprehensive training programs, ensuring all employees receive customer service certification and Microsoft Office specialist certification at the company’s expense.
The Elkridge-based company has been recognized among the top 50 Maryland diversity-owned businesses, Hispanic businesses and Maryland small businesses by DiversityBusiness.com. Additionally, it has been listed among the top 500 U.S. woman-owned businesses.
Rendon-Sherman continues to mentor emerging business leaders, sharing insights on business planning, market expansion and operational excellence. She maintains active membership in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, organizations she has belonged to for more than 30 years.
