Jack Dwyer is making his mark on Baltimore through business leadership and philanthropic initiatives. As CEO of CFG Bank, Dwyer has built a financial empire focused on serving the national health care and multifamily markets and the Mid-Atlantic commercial banking market.

CFG Bank is the 6th largest bank in the Baltimore area based on deposits and the largest bank headquartered in Baltimore. CFG Bank has grown from $1 billion in assets at the end of 2019 to over $5.3 billion in assets at the end of 2024 and is among the five largest and most experienced health care bridge-to-HUD lenders in the country, serving its clients and helping them grow for over 30 years.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned in your career?

Throughout my career, the most valuable lesson I’ve learned is that if you work hard at what you do, good things will happen. Nobody is just going to hand you things, so you need to go into every situation and relationship with a tenacious attitude and work creatively to make change happen for the better.

What’s been your biggest success?

My greatest success is Dwyer Workforce Development, a providing comprehensive support, job training and placement, wraparound services, case management, to individuals who lack opportunity; alleviating a severe health care workforce shortage, and improving the lives of senior housing residents. I’m proud to be able to help improve the lives of others and encourage others to do the same.

What are your hopes for the state or your community this year?

There’s a renaissance happening in Baltimore right now, and we’re thrilled to be part of it. Through our commitments to CFG Bank Arena, our new headquarters in Baltimore Peninsula, Dwyer Workforce Development, the National Aquarium and more, we hope to inspire others to join us in supporting Baltimore. I can’t wait to see how Baltimore continues to flourish in 2025.
