Goodwill to open largest regional store in Laurel Sept. 4
Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake announced its newest store and donation center is scheduled to open Laurel on Thursday, Sep. 4. The 22,000-square-foot establishment will be Goodwill‘s largest regional store, the company confirmed.
Located at 10350 Guilford Road, the Goodwill store’s grand opening will feature a ribbon-cutting, remarks from local leaders and an indoor tour of the site.
“This new Laurel store is more than a shopping destination,” Goodwill said in a release.
“It’s a hub for sustainability, economic opportunity, and community reinvestment, designed to serve local shoppers and donors.”
For the most part, Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake covers the Greater Baltimore region. According to Goodwill, the company has achieved 35% sales increase year-over-year at its top nine Baltimore-area stores and experienced 18% growth across all 31 locations in the Chesapeake region.
The new location will bring 25 new jobs and aims to offer more variety, an enhanced shopping experience, expanded donation capacity and longer store hours, being open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Goodwill also highlighted that revenue from the store will fund job training, adult education, and second-chance hiring programs.
