Tradepoint Atlantic announces new tenant
Global logistics and maritime development center Tradepoint Atlantic announced Samuel, Son & Co. Inc., a steel distributor with a Baltimore service center, will be joining the New Cold Mill facility located on Bethlehem Boulevard in the Sparrows Point area.
Samuel, Son & Co. finalized a long-term lease with Tradepoint Atlantic for a 130,000-square-foot facility that will nearly double its regional footprint in a move that is expected to bring more jobs and opportunities to the Baltimore area, according to a Tradepoint Atlantic release.
Tradepoint Atlantic highlighted that the Samuel, Son & Co. facility will process and distribute aluminum and stainless-steel flat-roll and long products that will support HVAC businesses, defense contractors and domestic metal fabricators.
“As a result of our strategic investments in marine, rail, and roadway infrastructure, Tradepoint Atlantic is uniquely positioned to serve Samuel’s domestic and international logistics needs,” Tradepoint Atlantic managing director Kerry Doyle said.
“We are thrilled to help Samuel, a leader in metals and industrial manufacturing, nearly double their footprint in the region. This expansion aligns with our mission to attract best-in-class logistics and manufacturing companies that bring jobs and economic opportunity to Baltimore.”
The Samuel facility will also cut metals into specified shapes before sending them to specialized producers. Samuel commenced operations at the new facility last month, Tradepoint Atlantic confirmed.
“Samuel is a sixth-generation family-owned company, and people are at the heart of everything we do. Our employees are the source of our strength and we look forward to expanding our business and workforce in Baltimore,” said George Dowell, general manager of the Baltimore Samuel facility.
“Our current facility supports 34 jobs, and this new expansion will allow us to continue to create more jobs and opportunities in the region.”
