What’s the most important thing you do in your job?

The most important thing that I do as a family law attorney is helping clients go through one of the most difficult times in their lives, whether it be a divorce or custody battle, and letting them know that they are not traveling this journey alone. I am here to listen to them, fight for them, and offer practical advice and solutions for moving forward. I give them hope that better days are ahead.

What qualities do you need to be a successful family law practitioner?

If I were looking to retain a family law attorney, I would want an attorney who listens, knows the law, has the strength to tell me what I may not want to hear, provides sound advice, and has the experience to know when to fight and when to negotiate or settle. I would want an attorney who cares. These are the qualities that shine in the courtroom, mediation, or settlement negotiations.

Outside of your legal practice, what activities or interests are you passionate about?

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, antiquing, spending time with my husband and daughter, and taking walks with my mini poodle. I am a person who likes to learn new things on a regular basis, from home improvement projects, plants and gardening, to health issues. I am passionate about historical preservation and am fortunate to live in a historic district where many of my friends and neighbors share the same passion.
