LifeBridge Health has selected a seasoned executive as Carroll Hospital’s next top leader. 

Brian Cawley has been appointed as the hospital’s president and chief operating officer and will begin his new role June 29, LifeBridge announced Tuesday. He will also serve as LifeBridge Health’s senior vice president, according to a release.

Bringing more than 25 years of experience leading hospital operations, strategic growth initiatives, healthcare finance and integrated physician practices in Maryland, Cawley comes to Carroll Hospital from MedStar Health in Baltimore, where he was a senior vice president of operations for two .

Cawley’s upcoming job at Carroll Hospital would be his second stint with LifeBridge as he previously held an executive role at Northwest Hospital and once led LifeBridge Health’s Community Physician Enterprise, a release says.

“I am excited and proud to join the Carroll Hospital team, and I look forward to the impact we will make together,” Cawley said in a statement. 

According to LifeBridge officials, his experience in physician collaboration, operations and community outreach makes him well-equipped to guide Carroll Hospital into its next growth phase.

“Brian’s passion for patient-centered care and proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships will undoubtedly strengthen our team and enhance the care we provide to our community,” said Leslie Simmons, Carroll Hospital’s interim president, in a release.

Located at 200 Memorial Ave. in , Carroll Hospital is a 65-year-old establishment is part of LifeBridge Health.

Cawley graduated from with a bachelor’s in business administration, going on to earn his master’s in business administration with a concentration in healthcare management from

A long-serving member of the Towson University Healthcare Management Advisory Board, Cawley is also a graduate of Baltimore County.
