Is it time to rethink the licensing of lawyers?

Feb. unofficial bar exam results released

About 59 percent of those who took the February general bar exam have reason to celebrate this week, according to the Maryland State Board of Law Examiners, which posted the unofficial results of the exam on its website. The pass-or-fail results are listed by seat number, not name, until test takers receive their official results via mail. According to the Board, 358 of the 607 who sat for the exam in February passed, while 249 failed. That’s almost identical to the percentage of those who passed last February’s exam — 342 out of 567 test takers, or 60.3 percent — but significantly fewer than the 72 percent who passed the general bar exam last July.
