Baltimore police and city prosecutors are reviewing a case that prompted a federal investigation into University for its handling of allegations.

Morgan State was recently added to a U.S. Department of Education list of schools being investigated for possible violations of Title IX, which bans gender discrimination on campuses receiving federal funds.

The school’s spokesman, Clinton Coleman, says the probe stems from a sexual assault that occurred in off-campus housing on Feb. 28 and involved two Morgan State students who know each other. Coleman says the alleged assailant is still enrolled at the university, and has not faced disciplinary action.

The assault, reported on March 20, was referred to Baltimore police, and Coleman says the university also launched its own investigation.
