Center for medical intelligence to open at Fort Detrick

FREDERICK, Md. – A new medical intelligence center at Fort Detrick will track health threats at home and abroad.
A ribbon-cutting is scheduled Wednesday for the new National Center for Medical Intelligence, which will be housed at the Frederick base.
The center will be a part of the Defense Intelligence Agency, which advises senior policy-makers and military commanders. The new center will not only track health threats to troops abroad and at home, but also to U.S. citizens.
The DIA says Wednesday’s ceremony will mark an important expansion of the center’s mission beyond the Department of Defense.
