Kaiser Permanente names new regional president

Kaiser Permanente has named Emily Holliman as the president of Kaiser Permanente in the Mid-Atlantic States, an appointment that came a year after she took over as the region’s interim president, the company announced Tuesday.
The healthcare leader brings more than 20 years of experience to the new role, previously holding positions that specialized in integrated care delivery, operational excellence and value-based care. Holliman, a 2026 Daily Record Top 100 Women honoree, joined Kaiser Permanente in the Mid-Atlantic States in 2023 as chief operating officer.
As Kaiser Permanente’s Mid-Atlantic region’s interim president, Holliman led efforts to provide integrated health care and coverage to the organization’s more than 750,000 members across 35 medical centers in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
“I am honored to lead Kaiser Permanente’s mid-Atlantic states market,” Holliman said, according to a release.
“Together with our exceptional physicians and care teams, we will continue to drive innovation, improve health outcomes, and expand access to high-quality, integrated care for the communities we serve.”
Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Holliman held executive roles at hospitals and health organizations in New Jersey and Massachusetts, according to a release.
She is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, earning a master’s in business administration and a bachelor of science in commerce and business administration. In addition, Holliman
is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
“Under Emily’s leadership, Kaiser Permanente has improved access, quality, member experiences, operational performance, and affordability in the mid-Atlantic states,” said Craig Albanese, president of integrated care and coverage for Kaiser Permanente, in a statement.
“She has strengthened and extended our value-based care model and improved the health of our communities, which is essential to Kaiser Permanente’s mission.”
Founded in 1945, Kaiser Permanente’s five premier hospitals in Maryland are located in Towson, Glen Burnie, Annapolis, Lanham and Silver Spring.
