Baltimore senior living community partners with dental provider
Springwell Senior Living, a locally owned and operated senior living community based in Northwest Baltimore, announced a partnership with Spa Creek Dental in an effort to provide convenient, on-site dental care services for residents.
The new services offered through the partnership rolled out this month, according to Springwell. The company also noted the collaboration aims to improve access to essential oral healthcare for seniors, many of whom face mobility, transportation, cognitive or health-related challenges.
Spa Creek Dental, a division of Spa Creek Health, is a dental provider offering mobile services – bringing licensed dental professionals and portable equipment directly into senior living communities, according to a release. Spa Creek Health, headquartered in Pennsylvania, operates in multiple cities across six states.
“Access to quality healthcare services is an essential part of supporting healthy aging and overall wellness,” Springwell CEO Phil Golden said according to a release.
“We are proud to partner with Spa Creek Dental to make dental care more accessible, convenient, and stress-free for our residents.”
Springwell cited data from the National Institutes of Health indicating that 93% of adults age 65 and older have had cavities as poor oral health has been linked to increased risks of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and pneumonia, based on Centers for Disease Control and Prevention research.
Through the partnership, Springwell residents will have access to a range of onsite, personalized dental services, including exams, cleanings, dentures, fillings, crowns, oral screenings and preventative care.
“Oral health plays a critical role in a senior’s overall health, comfort, and quality of life,” Spa Creek Dental’s Dani Silverman said.
“Our goal is to remove barriers to care by bringing compassionate, high-quality dental services directly to residents in a familiar and comfortable setting. We are excited to partner with Springwell Senior Living to help make dental care more accessible and convenient for their community.”
