Hearing set on tax credits for Harbor Point, Alameda developments
Listen to this articleTwo proposed developments in Baltimore will be the subject of a hearing next month by the Baltimore Development Corp. because developers are seeking Enterprise Zone tax credits in order to build.
The BDC will hold the public hearing on proposed redevelopment projects at The Alameda Shopping Center and the $1.5 billion Harbor Point development on the city’s waterfront that will include a tower for Exelon Corp.
The Enterprise Zones allow state property tax credits through Maryland’s Department of Business and Economic Development. (The most-recent Enterprise Zone maps have not included Harbor Point, but the area is still eligible to apply for the tax credits.)
The hearing will be held Aug. 8 at the Johns Hopkins Eastern Campus’s Emerging Technology Center at 1101 E. 33rd St. beginning at 6:30 p.m.
