Wanted: A developer for an 8-acre parcel of former industrial land in the city’s Fairfield area near Curtis Bay.
The Baltimore Development Corp. Monday released a request for proposals for the property at 1500 Chesapeake Ave.
The RFP seeks a new owner to redevelop the industrially-zoned city-owned parcel located in the “Fairfield Urban Renewal Plan” — a plan to revitalize a once-heavy industrial area southwest of downtown. The site is located one mile from Interstate 895 and four miles from the Harbor Tunnel.
Chesapeake Real Estate Group LLC had previously attempted to sell the property for use as a warehouse or commercial space, its website stated Monday.
The parcel is located in a city Enterprise Zone, which makes it eligible for a 10-year tax break, and may also be eligible for federal and state brownfields redevelopment tax credits, BDC officials said.
Proposals are due Dec. 5, BDC documents show.
