The two-story, 99,545 square-foot school replaced the 93-year-old original school building, which had over 650 students. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was on Oct. 2.
In addition to new classrooms, the construction included administrative offices, lobby and mural walls, a media center, cafeteria and kitchen, gymnasium, community spaces and an outdoor living classroom.
Upon completion, NPB teamed up with subcontractors and other companies to provide more than 200 backpacks and 2,000 school supply items.
NPB employees were also integral in another high-impact community project, the 2018 courtyard renovation at Patriot Plaza in Towson. The project at the 1.8-acre green space between the Historic Courthouse and Circuit Courthouse included removing an old fountain and almost two acres of concrete. NPB added green space in place of the concrete and installed sidewalks, seating walls, lights and pavers.
NPB also helped the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company relocate and expand. North Point Builders was the construction manager in the design phase, then was the general contractor on the new 20,000 square-foot building and 6-acre site.
Ken Wingate, president of NPB, said they approach each project from the clients’ perspective.
“Our employees have a total of more than 500 years of experience, so we get it,” he said. “We are here to guide our clients through the process and always keep their goals in mind.”
