The six-month closure of the Towson District Court building will begin Friday afternoon, according to the Maryland Judiciary. Normal operations will resume in new facilities in Catonsville on Monday morning.
The temporary relocation, to allow for a scheduled HVAC system replacement in Towson, has been in the works for months. Staff will move to the Rolling Crossroads Professional Park — which will eventually house Catonsville District Court operations — over the weekend.
This weekend, District Court commissioners will be available only at the Essex courthouse and at the old Catonsville courthouse on Walker Avenue. Essex and Catonsville will continue operations during the relocation.
Once the HVAC work in Towson is complete, Towson District Court operations will resume there and the Catonsville District Court will move into the Rolling Crossroads facilities.
