Howard County General Hospital increases integrative medicine offerings
The Claudia Mayer/Tina Broccolino Cancer Resource Center at Howard County General Hospital has introduced additional integrative medicine services, including acupuncture, massage, nutritional consultations and therapeutic yoga, officials announced Tuesday.
The expanded range of therapies for cancer patients and those without cancer are being offered in collaboration with providers from the Natural Care Center at Maryland University of Integrative Health, a graduate university in Laurel that educates practitioners.
Other services available in the center include:
- Social work, counseling and support group services provided free of charge
- Salon offering professional hairstyling as well as wigs, head scarves, wraps and hats
- Lending library and resource navigation services to help patients better understand their diagnosis and treatment
The center moved to a new space on the Howard County General Hospital campus in Suite 150 of the Little Patuxent Specialty Care Center at 11065 Little Patuxent Pky.
