AT&T announced Tuesday that the company has installed a new cell site in Carroll County.
The new site is expected to improve coverage and capacity around the communities of Woodbine and Gaither as well as help give residents and first responders on FirstNet faster, more reliable wireless service.
These enhancements also bring Band 14 spectrum to the area. Band 14 is nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet, the only nationwide, high-speed broadband communications platform dedicated to and built especially for America’s first responders and the extended public safety community.
From 2018 to 2020, AT&T invested more than $625 million in its wireless and wireline networks in Maryland, the company said.
