Baltimore architecture firm acquired by Cole & Denny Architects
Cole & Denny Architects, an architecture, planning and design firm headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, announced the acquisition of AHS Architects, a Baltimore-based architecture and interior design firm.
Formerly Ammon Heisler Sachs Architects Inc., AHS was founded in 2007 and garnered recognition for expertise across healthcare, higher education, mission critical, banking, automotive, retail, corporate, hospitality, industrial, research and technology and senior living sectors, according to a release.
The acquisition is part of a “major expansion” for Cole & Denny as the firm broadens its footprint into Maryland, aiming to boost design capabilities in healthcare, mission-critical tech, higher education and financial sectors.
“This acquisition represents an important milestone in the continued growth of Cole & Denny Architects,” Cole & Denny Architects President Michael Detomo said in a news release.
“By combining the strengths of our two firms, we are expanding our geographic reach, broadening our technical expertise, and enhancing our ability to serve clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Most importantly, we are bringing together talented professionals who share a commitment to exceptional client service and design excellence.”
According to a release, Cole & Denny Architects will continue to operate from AHS’s office, maintaining a presence in Baltimore and Alexandria. Cole & Denny will absorb AHS’s existing team and contracts for seamless continuity despite the acquisition.
Through the acqusition, a now-expanded team of architecture, planning and interior design professionals will work toward achieving Cole & Denny company objectives around design and innovative thinking. Former AHS President Harold Sachs joins Cole & Denny as a principal.
“We are proud of the relationships we have built and the projects we have delivered over the years,” Sachs said.
“Joining Cole & Denny allows us to continue providing the personalized service our clients value while offering access to additional resources, expertise, and opportunities that will benefit both our clients and our staff.”
