Compass Health Center, a group that provides intermediate levels of behavioral health care, including outpatient psychiatry, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programming, has signed a lease with SJ Capital Partners to occupy 15,732 square feet of space at 11941 Bournefield Way in the WestTech Business Park in Silver Spring.

Kenneth Fellows and Robert Pugh, partners with advisory services at commercial real estate firm Edge, represented the landlord. Brandon Nasatir of Savills represented the tenant in this transaction.

The transaction is part of the Illinois-based company’s expansion plans by opening its first greater Washington-area location.

Founded in 2011 by psychiatrists David Schreiber, MD, and Claudia Welke, MD, Compass Health Center works with patients struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD and bipolar disorder.

The new Silver Spring location will open in September with adolescent, young adult, and adult in-person and virtual programs. Child programming is scheduled to be added in 2024.

SJ Capital Partners owns six single-story medical/office buildings within WestTech Business Park. The project is located less than three miles from the Intercounty Connector (Maryland Route 200), Maryland Route 29, and less than five miles from Interstate 95. It is also near restaurants, shops, Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center and the White Oak Town Center redevelopment.
