Glo Fiber launches fiber optic internet in Salisbury

Glo FiberGlo Fiber, powered by Shenandoah Telecommunications Company, Wednesday announced it has successfully deployed 100% fiber optic broadband service to initial neighborhoods in Salisbury.

Construction began in late 2023 and the full build out is expected to take 18 to 24 months to complete, providing more than 14,000 homes and businesses with high-speed internet service. Glo Fiber provides a direct fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) internet connection with symmetrical upload and download speeds up to 5 gigabits per second (Gbps).

Shenandoah Telecommunications provides broadband services to customers in the mid-Atlantic region. The company’s services include broadband internet, video and voice; fiber-optic Ethernet, wavelength and leasing; and tower colocation leasing. The company owns an extensive regional network with more than 9,900 route miles of fiber and 219 macro cellular towers.
