What inspired you to launch your business?
After many years of working in organizations that support disabled children, Tzvi Haber was inspired to start his own program. He fell in love with the work and wanted to spread it to the DC area specifically. Thus, imadi was born. “Imadi is the result of a quantifiable need in the community, and I am grateful for the incredible support of so many lay leaders and professionals … It was my idea, but I am blessed to be a part of it.”
What challenges have you faced as a new business?
Haber faced a complex array of challenges — identifying overlooked family needs in a strained health care system, scaling a grassroots nonprofit with limited staff and funding, and delivering tailored, trauma-informed support to a diverse and medically complex community. Yet, through innovative volunteer engagement, strategic planning, and a strong vision, imadi has steadily evolved into a robust, inclusive support network for over 150 families in Maryland and D.C.
