In an effort to expand its health care network in Carroll County, Mercy opened Mercy Personal Physicians at Westminster with a special dedication ceremony, the health system announced Tuesday.
Mercy Personal Physicians at Westminster is a medical facility offering primary care and a variety of diagnostic and laboratory services, according to a release. The establishment is located at 1011 Baltimore Blvd.
Spanning roughly 6,000 square feet, the community physician site will aim to serve patients and families living and working in Westminster, Manchester, Finksburg, Eldersburg, Sykesville and surrounding Carroll County communities, Mercy Health Services said.
Mercy’s Westminster location will also host eight primary care providers along with a registered nurse specializing in gynecology.
“We are very pleased to expand our physician network by offering quality care services delivered in a compassionate setting to the residents of Carroll County and the region,” Mercy Health Services President and CEO David Maine said.
Primary care physician Robert Moss is the site’s medical director and John Abel will serve as the associate medical director. Primary care providers and gynecologic nurse practitioners have begun seeing patients at the Westminster site, according to Mercy.
In addition, Mercy Personal Physicians at Westminster has plans to add specialists who practice orthopedics, oncology and more.
The new facility joins Mercy’s network of primary and specialty care satellite locations in Hunt Valley, Glen Burnie, Lutherville, Overlea, Reisterstown, Ellicott City, downtown Baltimore and Canton (Southeast Baltimore).
“Mercy Personal Physicians at Westminster is the latest addition to Mercy’s efforts to ‘ring the beltway’ with community health centers,” said George Lowe, Maryland Family Care’s medical director
“Patients will also have access to Mercy specialists at Mercy’s Reisterstown and Ellicott City offices.”
