Mathnasium, a nationwide brand and supplemental math learning franchise, announced the opening of its newest Maryland learning center in .

Aiming to introduce intriguing and effective supplementary math programs for local children, the center is available for Pre-K students to 12th graders.

Located at 834 N. Rolling Road, the learning center focuses solely on math tutoring and instruction, and will implement what is called the “Mathnasium Method™.” This program provides customized learning plans and personalized instruction in a form that is understandable to each young learner, a release says.

Malik Ahmed is the owner of Mathnasium of Catonsville.

“Our students will receive the fundamental practice they need to master number facts, build computational skills, and improve number sense, an intuitive understanding of how numbers work,” Ahmed said.

“Our goal is simple: to teach math in a way that makes sense to kids. Mathnasium centers across the country have helped struggling students develop into ‘A’ students and ‘A’ students go on to even greater achievements. We are thrilled to be able to bring our Mathnasium Method™ to support the families of Catonsville.”

Mathnasium uses initial assessments to gauge a child’s strengths and weaknesses. Results from each assessment enable Mathnasium to build a student’s customized learning plan.

According to Mathnasium, the learning center’s instructors “are well-versed in integrating Mathnasium’s techniques with the math curriculum used in schools.”

Mathnasium of Catonsville instructors also plan to support students as they complete school homework and tests.

“As educators, we strive to offer Catonsville & surrounding area students a balanced math learning experience: one that fills in the gaps, keeps students on track with math taught in school, and, most importantly, makes learning math a fun and joyful experience,” Ahmed added.
