Downtown Baltimore gains national recognition

Baltimore is keeping some pretty good company in the latest “listicle” from the Huffington Post.

The website called one of the best cities in the world along with towns like Venice, Amsterdam and San Francisco.

According to the site, Charm City is a great draw because a “bustling harbor and lively area make Baltimore a favorite destination among tourists.”

In another round of good news the International Downtown Association named the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore as the July Downtown of the Month.

Downtown Baltimore is most famous for its Inner Harbor and tourist destinations, and for good reason. Last year its arts and cultural attractions, restaurants, shops, convention center, and sports facilities attracted 24 million visitors. Lesser known but just as important are Downtown Baltimore’s strengths as one of the densest downtown residential and employment clusters in the country.
