Do tomorrow’s predictions for bitter cold have you singing the blues?
Does the idea of wind chills so low that your eyeballs might freeze not thrill you?
Well, lobbyist Bruce Bereano has a warm thought that might get you through the next few days.
Bereano, in an email today, advised people to save the date for the 38th Annual J. Millard Tawes Clam and Crab Bake in Crisfield on July 16.
Tawes is the must-attend political event in Maryland [especially in an election year] despite the fact that Crisfield is practically at the southern edge of the Maryland map and it’s held on a blacktop surface on what is always the hottest, most humid day of the year.
It’s about the only time you can attend an all-you-can-eat event, eat everything you want and still come home 10 pounds lighter because of all the water weight you sweat off.
Assuming you beat the heat stroke.
But right now that sounds better than frozen eyeballs. [We’re told it’s possible at temperatures between -25 and -30 degrees Fahrenheit which is what forecasters are predicting the windchill temperatures will fall to on Tuesday].
You can’t buy tickets just yet but just thinking about baking on that blacktop is warming me up.
Just 191 days.
