As a principal and co-leader of Offit Kurman’s estates and trusts practice group, Meghan McCulloch focuses on estate planning, probate estate and trust administration, guardianships, special needs planning, and elder law across Maryland.

Recognized for her compassionate approach to providing advice to clients, McCulloch develops customized estate plans to meet individual goals and adeptly handles complex family dynamics in both planning and trust administration phases.

What’s the most important thing you do in your job?

Whether I’m advising fiduciaries regarding probate and trust administration or working with families to achieve their legacy planning objectives, the most important thing that I do is provide customized guidance to address the individualized needs of every client.

What is one aspect of your profession you would like to change?

With the rise of AI and online estate planning forms, I would like to see clients think of their estate and trust attorneys as trusted advisers. We get to know about our clients and their families, businesses and objectives more than a computer could ever begin to know, and often the best advice comes from understanding the nuance of a client’s needs.

If you weren’t in this industry, what would you be doing?

I always thought that I would work in public policy to have a direct role in shaping policies that impact our communities.
