KeraLink International, a nonprofit focused on corneal disease prevention and treatment in low- and middle-income communities, hosted its first major fundraiser, “Corneatopia: Eyes on the Future,” on Nov. 16 at the Maryland Science Center. The event raised more than $110,000 and featured ophthalmologists, engineers and tech innovators showcasing new medical devices to combat corneal blindness.
Founded in Baltimore in 1962 as the Maryland Eye Bank, KeraLink International grew to become the world’s largest ocular tissue supplier and helped eliminate the U.S. corneal transplant waitlist. The fundraiser highlighted the organization’s new mission, supported current initiatives and honored three individuals for their contributions to global eye care.
