IJAMSVILLE — Freight train operator CSX Corp. says it’s investigating an eight-car derailment in Maryland about 35 miles west of Baltimore.
Spokesman Rob Doolittle says no hazardous materials were spilled and no one was hurt when the cars derailed around 8 a.m. Thursday near the unincorporated community of Ijamsville.
Doolittle tells The Frederick News-Post that the 180-car train was traveling from Cumberland to Baltimore.
Doolittle says he doesn’t know how long the cleanup will take.
