SNOW HILL — Tax revenue generated by a Maryland casino will go to pay for police and road repairs in towns near the casino as well as paying down the debt on a school.
Local towns and Worcester County have been given approval to spend $711,000 in tax revenue generated since the Casino at Ocean Downs opened in January.
Ocean City will use its money to pay for police and do road repair. Berlin will purchase property for a police station and community center. Worcester County plans to use its share of the cash to pay down the debt on Worcester Technical High School.
