Severna Park mortgage broker sentenced to prison

A judge has sentenced a broker to more than three years in prison for her role in a that resulted in nearly $5 million in fraudulent .

The Maryland U.S. attorney’s office says 60-year-old Mary Anne Dean, of , was sentenced Tuesday to 37 months in prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with the scheme, which ultimately cost lenders nearly $1 million and caused to lose more than $1.2 million in equity in their homes.

Prosecutors say more than 20 victims were defrauded by Dean and a co-defendant, who was sentenced in March to 41 months in prison.

Dean has also been ordered to pay , but the exact amount will be decided at a later date.
