Nearly 1,000 have signed up for NASA FCU’s Star Trek cards

Almost 1,000 people signed up for Upper Marlboro-based NASA Federal Credit Union’s Star Trek-branded credit cards before they became available, according to the credit union.

The credit cards, which are under license by CBS Consumer Products, give users access to Star Trek merchandise and experiences, as well as the credit union’s Platinum Advantage Rewards program. They became officially available Thursday.

The credit union announced the availability of the cards in August at the annual Star Trek convention in Las Vegas.

The new Star Trek Credit Cards include: the Starfleet Academy Alumni, Starfleet Command, United Federation of Planets, and the Captain’s Card.

Star Trek fans may become credit union members and apply for the new cards online at www.nasafcu.com/startrek.
