What is your most significant professional accomplishment?
Professionally, I am most proud of my appointment by Governor Hogan to the Board of the Maryland Marketing Partnership because the Governor’s appointment would not have happened without a demonstrated track record of sustained professional success. I had to appear in a hearing in Annapolis with the State Senate in order to be confirmed. Once named to the Board, I was selected to be Chairman. The Board’s work is an important aspect of the state’s economic development strategy. I am honored to serve my state and lend my commercial real estate expertise to this important mission.
What personal accoumplishment are you most proud?
I have been training for and competing in triathlons for over 10 years. My greatest personal accomplishment was to finish my first half Ironman triathlon in Florida. I was properly trained but didn’t really have any idea what I was getting myself into. After a challenging 1.2-mile swim in the Gulf, I was already tired getting on my bike. The wind was strong that day and the bike was challenging. When I got off the bike after 56 miles, my legs were jello and I still had a half marathon to run! It took every bit of mental toughness I had in order to get through the run and get to the finish line. I crossed the finish line and felt such an overwhelming feeling of pride and accomplishment! That feeling motivated me to do another six half Ironman races.
