. announced that restaurateur Mohammed Bhuiyan and his business partner, Harun Patwary, are planning to open a quick-service concept after signing a lease for 2,500 square feet of space at Palace Plaza.

According to CRC, a commercial and investment company based in , the planned India Bistro restaurant is scheduled to open early next year. The eatery will feature cuisine, vegetarian and non-vegetarian curries, Tandoori chicken and seafood entries, fried rice, noodles, and customizable Biryani.

The announcement comes only a week or so after Blowfish Poké Hawaiian Grill and L&L Hawaiian Barbecue announced a collaborative effort to open a shared-space concept in Columbia Palace Plaza later this fall.

“Columbia Palace Place features a dominant anchor tenant in Giant , which drives steady traffic to the center throughout the week, so we will get tremendous visibility,” said Bhuiyan, who owns and operates several Subway and America’s Best Wings restaurants throughout the Mid-Atlantic. 

is an affluent and highly-diverse area and needed an authentic Indian restaurant, which we intend to deliver early next year. This location offers everything we need to be successful.”

India Bistro will occupy the former Dunkin’ space and will accommodate roughly 80 seats for dine-in customers, according to CRC.

The addition of India Bistro brings Howard County’s Columbia Palace Plaza to 100 percent occupancy, CRC confirmed. 

“Having a locally owned restaurant with deep experience in the food industry not only enhances the center’s options but also creates a gathering place that resonates with the community,” CRC executive Kristina O’Keefe said.
